Code Lyoko: Fall of X.A.N.A. Review

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

I am not familiar with the Code Lyoko series, but have been told that it was first an anime series featured on Cartoon Network, so it was hard for me to follow the game’s exact story, however, the gameplay was still satisfying.

C.O.R.E. Footage

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

C.O.R.E. the upcoming FPS for the Nintendo DS seems to be shaping up. The game will feature 14 levels, 20 enemies, 8 types of guns, and multiplayer. I’m excited to see how it’ll turn out. I could use a good FPS on the DS, aside from Metroid Prime: Hunters.

PS3 Trophy System Shown Off

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

With the Firmware update 2.40, comes the new Trophy system for the PS3. Obviously, developers can choose to use trophies, and there are four different kinds: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. These trophies give you a different amount of points, and if you get enough points, you “level up” for your….whatever their version of a gamertag/card is. You can also compare with your friends to see which trophies they have and so forth. Check out the video below for more details.

Xbox 360 Price Cut Coming

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

This was rumored a few weeks ago, but has come back, as the Hollywood Reporter is saying that a major retailer has said that Microsoft will cut the price of the Premium console down to $299, from $349, a price drop of $50. There was no mention of the other versions though, so who knows about them. $50 ain’t bad though.

Rock Band 2 is Official

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

The game will be released for the Xbox 360 this September, and for the PS3 sometime later in the year. Good news is that if you have some downloaded songs from the first game, you can play them in the second.

I don’t really see the point at all in releasing a sequel, as they are still going strong with the DLC. However, they are going to be releasing “quieter, more realistic, and more reliable instruments”.  Still…why make people spend so much money, and then release a sequel so soon? They’ll show their stuff off at E3, so be on the look out.

Wii-kly VC Update! 6/30

Monday, June 30th, 2008 by Zach Potts

Nothing too awesome this week, except maybe Fatal Fury 2. Not sure.

Anyways, apparently, maybe, you can download some new content for FFCC:MLAAK, but it wasn’t stated what or for how much, so it could have simply been an add.

For Wiiware, there is Magnetica Twist, for 1,000 Wii Points and features up to four player multiplayer. I was never a fan of the game, as it seems to simple and is on the internet for free. There are five modes though, so yeah, that’s something I guess. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is a puzzle game, where colored marbles inch towards the center, and if they get there, you lose. You shoot marbles at them to create a colored combo and they disappear. Joy.

For the VC, like I said, there is Fatal Fury 2, for 900 Wii Points. It is another fighter from SNK. The game boasts multiple characters to fight as/against, with stage specific hazards, and a two-line battle system for interesting attacks and strategery.

The trailer is first, followed by a long gameplay demo.

New Sonic Unleashed Video

Saturday, June 28th, 2008 by Zach Potts

A pretty sweet video, if I do say so myself. This video shows off a bunch of gameplay for the upcoming title, and really shows off its speed and fluidity. I am actually very excited for the game, and I HATE 3D Sonic games. Check it out.
