A long time ago, I owned a heavy black game system with green touches known as the Xbox. And on this system, I had one of the best experiences in my gaming life when I played through the original “Halo: Combat Evolved”. At the time, I didn’t realize that the first person shooter genre had been relatively unsuccessful on home consoles (Goldeneye: 007 on the N64 notwithstanding), nor did I foresee that this game would revolutionize the way that the genre was even thought about in the living room. I just fell in love with the main character, forever known as “Master Chief” and his sidekick “Cortana”, and I was engrossed in the epic nature of their story.

Rediscovering my love of “Halo”
Saturday, March 6th, 2010 by FlatlinerHalo 3’s Legendary Maps on sale
Monday, December 1st, 2008 by Zach PottsIf for some reason you have yet to pick up the Legendary Map pack, making you not a real fan of the game, or a cheap bastard, then now is the time, as you can pick them up for only 400 MS Points, as opposed to the regular 600.
Or, you can wait another couple of months for the Mythic pack to come out, and then a little longer, and maybe they’ll be free. Good luck with that.
Halo 3: Recon Expansion Details
Thursday, October 9th, 2008 by Matt CrossThe upcoming expansion to the endlessly popular Halo 3, entitled Recon, is poised to add a lot of great new content to Bungie’s shooter. The stand-alone expansion is said to add hours of new gameplay for the campaign and multiplayer, as well as introducing a new hero to the game. Full details on this expansion after the jump.
Bungie’s Teaser Analyzed
Thursday, September 25th, 2008 by Zach PottsAfter watching the teaser released earlier this morning a few times, and thinking about other recent announcements and looking at the new achievements, you can infer a few things about the teaser and what it means.
Firstly, looking at the trailer itself, it can be said that the city is New Mombasa, which was one of the main attack points for the Covenant when they invaded Earth in Halo 2. The city has been evacuated for some reason, probably due to war, and after a huge explosion, numerous drop pods are seen crashing to the ground, probably containing ODST soldiers. Then at the end, one final pod drops, with the line “Prepare to Drop”.
The Halo 3 logo is also displayed at the end, so this is obviously not a new game of any sort, so that is ruled out immediately. I’m not on the up and up with Halo’s story, so I can’t say exactly when this event is happening, but either way, the trailer must be for an expansion of some sort.
Bungie Teaser Trailer
Thursday, September 25th, 2008 by Zach PottsAfter a 12-hour countdown over at bungie.net, they have released a teaser trailer for something, entitled “Keep It Clean”, which features some metropolitan area getting mostly destroyed by some impact or bomb or something, idk, but it has SOMETHING to do with Halo 3 apparently…I’m sure lots of details will surface soon, but if you would like, you can check the video HERE.
My only guess, seeing as how it has to do with Halo 3, is the new Mythic map pack….
Halo 3 Update
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 by Zach PottsSo, I booted up my Halo today to get a few rounds in, and was treated to an update, and thought to myself, “Could it really be THAT update?!!?” Yeah, it was.
The update changes and adds a variety of things to the game, some of which relate to matchmaking settings and changing a few minor things in the maps, most importantly being the blue barrier doors in a few levels, which is odd.
One of the major, and best changes is the addition of around 30 brand new achievements for you to unlock, which is pretty awesome.
The other change is the fact that they now gave each matchmaking mode a unique military rating, instead of a global one like they used to have. This is a bit odd though, as that was what the levels were for….but whatever…all your previous data still stands though, so don’t worry about that getting erased or anything.
So yeah, if you haven’t played Halo 3 in awhile, now may be the time to get back on the Warthog.
