Left 4 Dead PC Review

Saturday, December 20th, 2008 by Ryan L. Lopees

These are people who have died, died!

Title: Left 4 Dead
Publisher/Developer: EA/Valve and Certain Affinity
Platforms: Windows PC, Xbox 360
Release Date: 11/18/2008
Number of players/Multiplayer: Single-player, 4 player Co-Op online, 4 player Versus online

Yup. that’s right, it’s time for me to review the newest dead-heads to the party. As if you couldn’t have seen this one coming. If you’ve know my tastes slightly, you knew I was going to chew into this game’s brains like a hungry zombie at a buffet. Left 4 Dead hit us just a scant, few weeks back and there’s are hordes of us already addicted. Why? Well if you are asking that question then, as much as I hate to tell people to leave the site, stop reading this and get the game for yourself. That is, of course, if you like first-person shooters and non-stop, heart-pounding, bloody action. This is going to be one of my longer reviews, but that is simply because I can see players still playing this game for a long, long time. It’s amazing to me how deep the game is without actually having that much depth.

Wanna play as an Infected in Left 4 Dead?

Friday, November 7th, 2008 by Matt Cross

Then I have good news for you! I’ve got the details on how you can play as one of the Infected in the hot new title! Please note that this does require the server, or local server to have sv_cheats set to 1. “How can I be an infected!” you say? Here’s how:

Once the game has loaded up, open up your game console and type, “ent_fire !self setteam 3″. This will set you as joining the Infected side.

From there, enter in “ghost” and you should respawn as a Boss Infected! Otherwise, you can force a Boss to spawn using the following commands.

z_spawn boomer

z_spawn tank

z_spawn hunter

z_spawn smoker

In addition to those, we’ve also added some early features to help enable “private” servers. There are two ways to enable this:

Left 4 Dead Achievements Announced

Monday, October 20th, 2008 by Matt Cross

One of the most anticipated games this year coming from the folks at Valve, Left 4 Dead, has some pretty nifty achievements. This game is sure to be a big hit, and one that I know I’m hugely looking forward to. Courtesy of the folks at Maximum PC, we can now see what to expect in the form of 52 achievements, to completely conquer the game. Got time to kill 53,595 zombies? I hope so. If you want the “Zombie Genocidest” achievement, you have to.  Some of these sound pretty fun, some sound like they might be difficult (or time consuming) to get.  I’d bet someone will get ‘em all though.  Hit the jump for the full list.
