Capcom aren’t wasting any time keeping gamers happy with Mega Man 9. Coming today, tomorrow, and Wednesday to the Wii, Xbox Live, and PSN respectively, will include three exciting new gameplay modes as well as introducing a new boss, Fake Man! The other two packs are for new difficult modes, called Hard Mode and Expert Mode. Hard, expert? I have enough trouble playing the standard game. I can’t imagine how crazy these new modes will be. Hit the jump for full details on the newest expansion for MM9!
Mega Man 9 is the most recent entry in the creative Mega Man numbered series. Like the majority of games in the series, Mega Man 9 features eight fresh Robot Masters as well as Splash Woman, the original female boss character in the imaginative series. Having some of the most unsurpassed level design, Mega Man 9 is affectionately welcomed by all gamers. Can you overcome Dr. Light and render Dr. Wily’s true purpose?
For (200/Wii | 160/XBLA) points players will be able to download the playable Proto Man in Mega Man 9. The download will be obtainable the opening week of October 6, 2008. Proto Man will have attacks not accessible to Mega Man including bigger blasts, and the talent to ward off bullets with his shield.
First announced by the Australian ESRB-type place, Office Of Film and Literature Classification, Mega Man 9 has now been revealed in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, which also has an interview with the series creator Keiji Inafune.
It was revealed that both the game will be available through WiiWare, and that it will feature the series’ classic look and old graphics. There will also be eight bosses, which seems like a decent amount to me.
I do find it odd though that there wasn’t some kind of graphical update. I can understand the old-school playing style and everything, but not even a little graphical update to make things look a bit smoother? Ok…I guess it is WiiWare though which could explain it. Should be good.
